Each October, survivors, allies, and activists come together to spread awareness and create conversations about domestic violence, and how communities can come together to support victims. This October, KWH Law Center and the Albuquerque Community Foundation are recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month by hosting their 1st Annual Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Summit.
The summit, titled Working Together, will take place on Tuesday, October 8 at the State Bar of New Mexico at 8:30 AM, and will focus on five specific topics:
- Best Practices for domestic violence and sexual assault organizations
- Gaps in services offered to survivors
- Financial opportunities that exist for clients and organizations
- New policies being put in place to hold domestic violence abusers accountable
- How to working together creates the best outcomes and results
This summit is open to all domestic violence and sexual assault organizations around the state, in addition to law enforcement personnel who are regularly in contact with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.
Our goal is to have participants leave the Summit renewed, connected, and inspired to get involved and change the domestic violence and sexual assault narrative.
