"Working Together" October 8, 2024
The 1st Annual Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Summit, hosted by KWH Law Center and the Albuquerque Community Foundation, was a powerful gathering held on October 8 at the State Bar of New Mexico.
Titled “Working Together,” the summit brought together survivors, allies, activists, and law enforcement personnel for an impactful day of discussion and collaboration.
The event focused on key issues including best practices for support organizations, addressing service gaps for survivors, financial opportunities for clients and organizations, new accountability policies, and the importance of working together to achieve the best outcomes.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in dynamic discussions, panel presentations, and networking opportunities, all aimed at sharing insights and solutions for ending domestic violence and sexual assault. The sessions provided a platform for exploring new ways to support survivors and ensure that both organizations and communities are better equipped to respond to these issues.
Attendees left the summit feeling renewed, inspired, and better connected, with a shared sense of purpose to continue the critical work of supporting survivors and changing the narrative around domestic violence and sexual assault. The summit successfully fostered a sense of community, highlighted the importance of collaboration, and emphasized the potential for positive change when we all work together.
